From Harvard to Memphis: A Journey of Growth
The story behind my decision to transfer from Harvard to the University of Memphis and what I've learned along the way.
Making the decision to transfer from Harvard University to the University of Memphis was one of the most significant choices of my athletic career—and one that has shaped who I am today.
The Harvard Foundation
My time at Harvard provided an incredible foundation. The academic rigor, the historic tradition, and being named team MVP were all experiences I'll cherish forever. Playing Ivy League football taught me discipline and time management in ways that extended far beyond the field.
Why Memphis?
The opportunity at Memphis represented a new challenge: competing at a higher level of football while continuing to pursue academic excellence. The coaching staff's vision, the program's trajectory, and the chance to make an immediate impact were all compelling factors.
The Transition
Any major transition comes with challenges. Adapting to a new team, a new city, and a different style of play required mental toughness and flexibility. But these challenges were exactly what I needed to grow as both an athlete and a person.
Looking Forward
This journey has reinforced my belief that growth happens outside your comfort zone. Whether it's transferring schools, pursuing new opportunities, or taking calculated risks—progress requires courage.
The path from Cambridge to Memphis has been anything but conventional, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
